Position Overview

You’ll be responsible for developing compelling, actionable strategies that connect client business objectives with innovative digital solutions. This role combines strategic thinking, design sensibilities and digital expertise to identify opportunities, define project direction, and guide multidisciplinary teams. The role sits within the Design and Experience team, collaborating directly with clients and internal teams to translate insights into strategic frameworks and design artifacts that drive exceptional digital experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic discovery sessions with clients to understand business challenges, goals, and success metrics
  • Develops comprehensive digital strategies that align client objectives with user needs and technological possibilities
  • Creates strategic artifacts including journey maps, service blueprints, experience principles, and roadmaps
  • Conducts stakeholder interviews, competitive analysis, and digital landscape assessments
  • Creates design artefacts such as wireframes, prototypes and UX designs
  • Collaborates with UX designers to translate strategy into user experience concepts and wireframes
  • Facilitates client workshops to build consensus around strategic direction and design approach
  • Presents strategic recommendations confidently and persuasively to client stakeholders
  • Develops measurement frameworks to evaluate the success of implemented strategies
  • Contributes to agency thought leadership through case studies, articles, or speaking opportunities
  • Supports business development efforts through proposal development and new business pitches
  • Confidently articulates the value of strategic work and help clients and potential clients understand how it can impact their business and goals

Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in strategic roles within digital agencies or consultancies
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic artifacts, design artifacts, frameworks, and their influence on design outcomes
  • Experience in client-facing roles with proven ability to build trust
  • Understanding of user experience design processes and methodologies
  • Knowledge of service design principles and artifacts
  • Familiarity with digital product and platform capabilities
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge and passion for emerging technologies and their impact in our field
  • Experience facilitating design thinking workshops
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Familiarity with agile project methodologies
  • Experience working across multiple industries and project types
  • Ability to visualise complex systems and user journeys
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid adaptation to new client contexts

This role requires someone who balances strategic thinking with practical application, can navigate client dynamics effectively, and thrives in the collaborative environment of a digital agency. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting to C-suite executives and rolling up their sleeves to create strategic artifacts that guide design teams.
